A little bit about the new album:

In late 2010, Cab teamed up for the third time with producer/musician Jason Kent (Sunfields) to produce their longest and most developed batch of recordings to date. “Leave the Porch Light On” features nine alt-country-blues pieces concerning love, heartache, redemption, death, compassion and whiskey drinking.

Leave The Porch Light On CD Launch November 12 Barfly

Leave the Porch Light on / Pub Saint Alexandre QC / FestiBlues International de Montreal

by Jonathan on August 3, 2011

We didn’t get a chance to post anything in July mainly because we were too busy getting things finalized for the new record. On that note we’ve got the recording portion finished which has been going on since November. A big thanks to Jason Kent (Field Recordings) for all the work he has put into the record. If the title of this post didn’t give it away the record in going to be dubbed Leave the Porch Light on. We had a few titles in mind but felt that we owed it to our song Porch Light for being our go to guy for the past year(s).

The album art for Leave the Porch Light on is looking good! We’ve been working with a local Montreal artist named Kim Poulin and she really grasped what we were looking for. We can’t wait to show you but before that we need to finalize a few things like mastering, duplicating and finding a venue for the CD Lauch. But besides that we’re pretty much ready to go ;)

If anyone is interested in pre-ordering the record email us at info@cabmusic.ca.

In other news we’ll be heading to Quebec City this weekend (August 5,6) playing back-to-back nights at Pub Saint Alexandre in the old part of the city.

Our last item of news for this post is the FestiBlues International de Montreal. We’re fortunate enough to be returning to the FestiBlues this year on Thursday August 11th at 11pm at the Saint Hubert restaurant (10 520, rue Lajeunesse) located parallel to Parc Ahuntsic where the outdoor stages are located. The FestiBlues has been great to Cab and we owe many of our biggest gigs to them.

Hope the summer is treating you well!
